
Prof. Dr. Fehime Jülide HIZAL YÜCESOY
Dean
Jülide Hızal Yücesoy graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Chemistry in 1993. She continued her graduate studies at Istanbul University, Graduate School of Science, Department of Chemistry, Division of Analytical Chemistry, completing her master’s degree in 1996 and her Ph.D. in 2001. Until receiving the title of associate professor in 2007, she conducted research on heavy metal adsorption and modeling for three months each at the University of Notre Dame, College of Earth Sciences (Indiana, USA) under Prof. Dr. Jeremy Fein, and at Forschungszentrum Karlsruhe, Institute for Technical Chemistry, Water Technology and Geotechnology Division (Karlsruhe, Germany) under Prof. Dr. Wolfgang Höll. Dr. Yücesoy joined Yalova University in 2010 and received the title of professor in 2013. Dr. Yücesoy conducts research on the investigation and modeling of heavy metal adsorption on non-conventional sorbents, the evaluation and usability of industrial solid wastes, the qualitative and quantitative determination of carbohydrate mixtures by electrophoretic methods, the modeling of acidic–basic equilibria and metal complexes of humic acids, the examination of the antioxidant properties of humic acids through electron-transfer-based methods, metal nanoparticle formation, and solid-liquid extraction, as well as the photodegradation of humic acids and the determination of antioxidant capacities. She has numerous publications, book chapters, and conference papers presented at national and international congresses, symposia, and meetings. Dr. Yücesoy has served on organizing and scientific committees of national congresses and workshops in analytical chemistry and has participated as an invited speaker in many scientific events. Dr. Yücesoy has served as Vice Rector of Yalova University, Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering, and Director of Armutlu Vocational School and the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences. She has also been a member of various university committees and commissions. As of January 10, 2022, she has been appointed as the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Yalova University.

Asst. Prof. Hasan SESLİ
Vice Dean
Hasan Sesli graduated from Karadeniz Technical University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering in 2010. In the same year, he began his master’s studies in Civil Engineering at Karadeniz Technical University. He was appointed as a research assistant in the Department of Civil Engineering, Graduate School of Natural and Applied Sciences at Karadeniz Technical University in 2011. After completing his master’s degree in 2013, he continued his doctoral studies in the same department and received his Ph.D. in 2018. Following the completion of his research assistantship at Karadeniz Technical University in 2018, Dr. Sesli was appointed as an assistant professor in the Department of Civil Engineering at Yalova University, Faculty of Engineering, in 2019. Between 2019 and 2022, he served as vice-chair of the Civil Engineering Department at Yalova University. Dr. Hasan Sesli continues his academic studies in the fields of earthquake engineering and structural mechanics. He has published articles in national and international journals and has presented numerous papers at national and international congresses, symposia, and meetings. As of September 18, 2023, Dr. Hasan Sesli has been serving as the Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Yalova University.

Asst. Prof. Başak ÇETİNGÜÇ
Vice Dean
Dr. Başak Çetingüç graduated from Kocaeli University, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering in 2008. She received her master’s degree in Engineering Management in 2012 from The George Washington University, where she studied with a scholarship from the Ministry of National Education. Dr. Çetingüç continued her doctoral studies in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Istanbul Technical University and completed her Ph.D. in 2024 with her dissertation titled “An analysis of the relationships among national-level innovation, competitiveness, and human development, and the influence of national culture on these relationships.” She began her academic career in 2012 as a research assistant at Yalova University, Faculty of Engineering, and has been serving as an Assistant Professor since 2024. Her primary research areas include technology and innovation management, business management, and data mining. Dr. Çetingüç has numerous publications in prestigious journals indexed in SCI/SCI-Expanded, as well as papers presented at scientific conferences. As of January 23, 2025, Dr. Başak Çetingüç has been appointed as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at Yalova University.
