The Faculty of Engineering at Yalova University has launched an exemplary project that combines environmental awareness with social responsibility under its Social Contribution activities.
Hazelnut and walnut shell residues generated during studies in the Faculty’s R&D Laboratory were repurposed as raw materials for producing feeding bowls for stray animals.
The project was carried out under the leadership of the Faculty’s Social Contribution Coordinator, Assist. Prof. Dr. Muhammet Çelik, and implemented in the laboratory supervised by Assoc. Prof. Dr. İdris Karagöz.
This initiative underlines that engineering is not only about technical design and production, but also about fostering environmental consciousness, sustainability, and compassion for all living beings.
Engineering is the art of creating value for both nature and life. 💚🐾
