The TARAGAY Rocket Team of Yalova University has achieved a remarkable success in the TEKNOFEST 2025 Vertical Landing Rocket Competition, successfully completing trial launches and moving forward to the finals.
Supervised by Asst. Prof. Dr. Mahmut Bingöl from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, the team consists of Team Captain Musa Seyidoğlu, Burak Mutluer, Hamza Çakar, Berat Atıcı, Ahmet Çoban, Emre Yıldız, Hasan Albayrakoğlu, and Sümeyra Karakoç.
With the support of Yalova Youth Center, Yalova Organized Industrial Zone, Yalova Municipality, Yalova Fire Department, and AFAD, the TARAGAY team developed a rocket system capable of soft landing, reflecting the innovation- and technology-oriented vision of our Faculty of Engineering.
This rocket, designed with an interdisciplinary engineering approach and equipped with a cold gas propulsion system for controlled landing, carries the potential to contribute to Türkiye’s national space targets, including the Lunar Program.
